~*What is this week's buzz?*~

Wednesday, 4 September 2013

Today was the first day of class! All of the kids played a mnemonic game to learn each other's names, and I had them share a few of their favorite things, what they like about themselves, and what they'd like to be when they grow up. I sent them all home with a small packet that contains my contact information and an overview of what we will be doing throughout the year. Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have any questions, comments, or concerns!

Feel free to check back every Friday for brief weekly updates.

What a great first full week of class! The children have been learning so much and so fast! This week we have been learning the alphabet, and small phonic exercises. All of the children are writing their name and are so proud! They all created a name tag to tape to the end of their assigned desks. We also learned how many letters are in each one of our names, as well as the letters of the days of the week and how many letter they have.

This week has been full of much learning and joy. The children seem to particularly enjoy the little science assignments I have started to introduce. In the middle of the week, there was a little incident where a child made fun of their classmate's parents of foreign decent. At a point, I gathered the class and had a little talk about diversity, and how we should all love and accept people no matter how they look. The children seemed to bond a little more after this.
